There are many different types of superchargers kits available to upgrade the power and performance of your vehicle. The definition of a Supercharger is a "Crank Driven Air Pump" capable of pushing a greater than atmospheric amount of air into the engine to increase volumetric efficiency and create greater combustion. The result of which is greater engery translating into More Power, Torque, Throttle Response and Acceleration ! Vortech are the most Popular Supercharger Kits on the market.

Superchargers are available in many different types, brands and configurations. There is however a main categorical distinction made relating to the operating principle of specific models of supercharger, with the divide being whether categorised as:
A) a Blower like the Eaton System ... or, B) a Compressor like the Vortech System ...
The Blower type of Supercharger is termed a "Blower" because categorically, that's exactly what it does - Blows air into the Engine. The Compressor type of Supercharger is termed so because it "Compresses" the Air as it's exited from the supercharger. With the Blower type of supercharger the air is not actually compressed within the supercharger, but rather in the inlet manifold as pressure is built-up above atmospheric, which creates the realised boost levels (measured in psi).
There are many advocates for each type of supercharger type. The main determinant of which supercharger you would choose to use is based upon the many attributes as well as negatives associated with each. The main differential between the "Blower" vs. "Compressor" is the rate (progression) of boost creation.
